Indeed, internet users create your reputation. Plus you can measure a reputation through comments on blog for exemples. If you upload a video on you tube, you know how many times your video has been watched. If you have talent but don't know any famous person, you can become famous thanks to websites like my space. Indeed, many artits use that site in order to show their talent. It seams fair since your reputation is based on the opinion of internet users instead of on the opinion of stars or jouralists. However, you can't totally control your reputation. Indeed, anyone can upload an embarassing video of you on you tube, write a nasty comment on your blog or a fake piece of information in order to ruin your reputation. For exemple, during elections, some internet users can upload embarassing videos of the candidates in orde to change their reputation. For exemple, this a video of Sarkosy(drunk!): To me, there are not enough rules on the Internet.
